At the Electrochemical Society Conference this fall, Xtalic scientists, Dr. Jane Freydina and Dr. Josh Abbott, have described the details of reduction-oxidation reactions in ionic liquid plating. Ionic liquids can be used to electrodeposit metals that are otherwise difficult to plate in the presence of water. Dr. Freydina and Dr. Abbott have provide insight into the oxidation state changes that can occur during alloy plating from ionic liquids and how these chemistries might be used in industrial applications.
